Considering everything i wrote about the Tropicana in my post of a few weeks ago, today MACE (a bunch of possible arse ramming uncle fuckers, alledgedly) have been given a SIX MONTH extension to their contract. Now I’m really not impressed. Sod the war on terrorism, lets take out some MACE management.!

A Terrible Event.

I have finally found a worthy cause for a minutes silence. From the 26th of March and on that date every year, we should all pause, bow heads and remember the two finest DJ’s that have ever graced the air waves, as Mark and Lard leave Radio 1 (and each others company) for ever. Sniff.

Ever since they joined Radio 1 back in 1990-something and replaced Nicky Campbell on the 10 til 12pm show, I have listened, laughed and cryed along with them. They introduced me to the delights of taking the piss out of other peoples Music (cue The Shirehorses, both of their albums I am proud to own), pixie dancing on the way to college when they replaced that twat Chris Evans on the breakfast show, hearing the first beginnings of stars such as Starsailor, Turin Brakes and the wonderful Slim and Shady the squirrels on the afternoon show.

It will soon be no more. Come this Friday at 4pm they will finish and Mark Radcliffe will move to Radio 2 whilst Lard wobbles his way to Radio 6 (i think). How will I cope.? I just don’t know.

So join me, won’t you, as I twaddle with my dangle-murkle and compact the hemp seeds in the bowl of my flange-pipe so I can sit back and recall the bright heady days of the two best DJ’s to ever grace this fine land and think… “what a pair of no nonsense gobshites”

Damn I am gonna miss ‘em.!

Totally Tropical Taste

On the front of todays paper was a great big picture of one of my towns landmark touristy buildings, The Tropicana (Click here for pic). Now The Tropicana has been boarded up for umpteen years. Back in the sixties it was a huge pool (unheated admittedly) but very popular. Then in the eighties it was redeveloped into a fun pool with slides and wave machines etc, which was a lot of fun (although it needed a roof as English weather is not always very kind in the summer, but no said the Council, too expensive, we have to fund some disabled, lesbian, asylum seekers or something). And then one day it closed. The boards went up. The paint started flaking and the tourists began to wonder what the point of having this huge building on the beach if it was always closed. That was about 10 years ago…

then last year (ish) a big development company called MACE decided they could turn it into this… Grand isn’t it including an underground car park and that 120 foot high tower.! Our beloved council has given them extention after extention because they still believe that MACE will build the damn thing (not wishing to point out the obvious but a polished turd is still a polished turd none the less).

My town council never listens to the people. I can promise you that MACE will be granted another extention at noon tomorrow and the fun will continue. I just want my fun pool back (ah girls in bikinis. never enough in this ole town for my liking). MACE suck BIG TIME.

On another note, I have been asked to mention my good friend and work collegue Mr Jon Eldergill (thats his nipple with the star through it on my photoblog). Its not that I have anything to say about him really except that he wants to be able to put his name into google and find it somewhere.!

Bon weekend everyone.!

Thoughts…

I have just been reading this… Yes, this here u fool and frankly I am amazed. If you lock someone up for 25 years and they are innocent then u should bloody knight the poor buggers, not charge them for their stay when they didnt want to and shouldnt have been inside in the first place.! Its disgusting. Typical Labour government. they make a mistake, and the people pay. If you see Blunkett in the street then make sure u put some big stones in his way. Might as well kick his guide dog too.

Oh and while I am being all political and things… which fool decided we should have a 3 minute silence for those people who got blown up on the trains in Spain.? Hang on… now only 200 odd people got blasted to dust, and that is obviously 200 too many, but in 9/11 there was 3000+. Three minutes for that is ok. that is a massive tragic occurence. The millions in the World Wars only get 2 minutes of our time each year. I personally didnt keep to the silence. None of us at work did. If we stopped work for three minutes everytime something bad happens then we would all be miserable and out of work.! Im not uncaring but that is just stupid.!

For the past five days I have been engrossed in a new game. And for a change it doesnt involve mobile phones or boring WW2 tank battles. Its called EVE (have a butchers here… EVE ) Its a space based mining, trading, shooting game that is absolutely HUGE.! Give it a try. Big download and a £10 a month subscription. Well worth it though.

If you do play then wave to Targo Spatch. I might just wobble my bare buttocks out the window at you.
